【Doll’s Festival／Hinamatsuri】

Hinamatsuri(Doll’s Festival) is an occasion to pray for young girls’ growth and happiness.
Today, we eat traditional dishes like Scattered sushi(chirashi-sushi), clam soup, sweet white sake(shirozake), rise cake cubes(hina arare) and diamond-shaped rice cakes(hishimochi) for the Doll’s Festival.
Chirashi-zushi is sushi rice mixed with various ingredients and decorated with egg, shrimp, salmon roe, nori (seaweed), etc.
Hamaguri clam soup
Traditional celebrations such as cakes incorporating hina doll motifs and dishes arranged in a modern style have been carried on in the modern age.
